Bio

I am a freelance editor and indexer for hire — based in Long Beach, CA. I have a copyediting certificate (from UC San Diego Extension) and a book indexing certificate (from the American Society for Indexing), and I’m currently a member of the Online News Association. In 2010 I was named a resident of the Prelinger Library in San Francisco.

Nonfiction books are my main passion. I have worked with bestselling authors (Stephen Singular, Russ Baker); award-winning journalists (Ben Camacho, Cerise Castle); major educational and reference publishers (Scholastic, Lonely Planet); and other notable clients (Rizzoli, RAM, RE/Search, Waterbury, Charles H. Kerr). In 2023, working with Apex CoVantage, I started creating back-of-the-book indexes for Routledge titles.

I also have experience with online publishing, having done web work for the Public Domain Review, IYUNO Media Group, WhoWhatWhy, Acousthetics, and others. Aside from copyediting and proofreading for such clients, I have in some cases overseen content management, handled quality control, and carried out e-book production.
